About

Pittsburgh hosts a strong foundation of expertise, resources, and data that give it an immense amount of capability to lead medical imaging artificial intelligence (AI) research and innovations. The Pittsburgh Center for AI Innovation in Medical Imaging (CAIIMI) was launched in January 2020 and, to date, has engaged 98 members (researchers, clinicians, and outreach members) from 9 different schools at the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and Carnegie Mellon University.  The Center presents as a unique multi-disciplinary team and uses a convergence approach to integrate distinct expertise to advance the field of medical imaging AI. CAIIMI pursues to lead large-scale research efforts and aims to build strong academic-industry partnership.
